metro area, a hub of economic growth in the country, is one of the most racially and ethnically diverse cities in the United States.

“Racially and ethnocentric,” the report says, “rural America and rural America” is the new “greater American nation.”

The report, “Rural America’s Most Black Cities” from the Urban Institute and The Urban Institute’s Urban Cities Program, looked at the 10 most diverse cities on the continent, finding that, in terms of income, median income, housing density, and other factors, the 10 metro areas were: 1.
