If battery storage becomes a problem, the next best thing to plug in is the electric vehicle itself.

That’s where the price jumps.

A new study published in the Journal of Energy Economics and Technology shows that the prices of electric vehicles can be dramatically different.

In a study of 1,000 vehicles from different brands, the researchers found that the electric truck battery prices were $2.80 less than the gas-powered vehicles.
